Features Overview

As many of you know, I moved to New York City from Minneapolis, MN three years ago, October 27th. It has been quite an experience. Year 1 was full of so many adjustments as I explored and figured out this foreign place. It took a long time for me to understand how I, Autumn fit into this city. I think that I did loose myself in the shuffle in year two as I made a huge leap into freelance/barista life. I learned a lot about myself and life here and that I need structure more than freedom. While making huge leaps of faith are exciting, it may sometimes be an unwise and scary time. Year three met me with a job of respite, refocus and refuse. Many people don't really talk about financances but I learned a HUGE lesson in money management and with the help of a coworker got on a budget program that has given me so much hope and success as I am on a 2-year plan of getting out of debt (maybe even sooner!). I'd love to talk more about that if you're interested. It feels like a life savor.

In addition to life lessons and self discovery, I've had great moments with friends, with the city, with books and travels. I have apprecited and become one with my city in a way I wasn't sure would ever happen. It took two complete years to feel like I truly live here now though I know I can't really say I'm a New Yorker yet. Let me tell you, it feels SO good. I have 2-7 more years for that depending on who you ask. ;)

God has been faithful as always. He has pushed me beyond what I thought I could ever handle. If 25-year old Autumn knew what was ahead of her, I think I would be pretty devestated and thrilld at the same time. But that's just life for you, right? You never know what to expect. I'm grateful for the opportunities I've had to trust in God to provide, to be my companion and inspiration for all that I do - wherever I am.

The visitors I've had come is always a light in my life. even if we've lost touch, oyoua re always welcome to visit. Being tourguide is my favorite part of living in New York. It's really the best.

REading books has been a life savor as well. I've made a list of one's that I feel capture the personality and the life here; past and present.
